Implicate Order: Harmony of Opposites I paint every work through pure improvisation. Before starting, I never make plans. For me, art is not about expressing personal emotion or borrowing external subjects. It is a process that digs into the root of cosmos through the deep inner unconscious and intuition, and explicating this flow onto the physical surface of the canvas. Influenced by physicist David Bohm's theory of the Implicate Order, I believe that time and space, matter, and consciousness, are not separate but deeply enfolded into one another — like a hologram in which every fragment contains the whole. The cells, fragments, circular forms, or small pieces that populate my surfaces are not random. The movement of the microscopic particles represents matter that already possesses macroscopic energy in its entirety. The imagery of them deconstructing and combining with one another may seem like an echo of chaos. However, this is a process through which fragmented existence find their unified form by complementing each other. I call this the ‘Harmony of Opposites’. Ultimately, all beings come to realize the truth that everything is connected by a single order. The world regards my work as a perspective of rupture and the spurt of strong energy, but this is closer to a physical and philosophical practice that expresses the implicate order hidden among all things. Beyond fragmented reality, I hope to evoke the living wholeness that breathes everywhere. I wish for my works to resonate with the softest hidden harmony within you. 임플리키트 오더(Implicate Order): 상극의 조화 나는 모든 작품을 즉흥적으로 그린다. 작업을 하기 전에 어떤 계획도 하지 않는다. 나에게 예술이란 외적인 대상과 소재를 가져오거나, 개인의 사소한 감정을 나타내는 것이 아니다. 오히려 내면의 깊은 무의식과 직관력을 통해, 우주의 거대한 근원을 파헤치고, 이러한 흐름을 캔버스라는 물리적 표면 위로 펼쳐내는 과정이다. 내게 영향을 준 물리학자 데이비드 봄의 ‘임플리키트 오더(Implicate Order, 접힌 질서)’ 이론에서는 우주의 모든 시공간과 물질, 정신이 분리되지 않는다고 말한다. 그들은 마치 복잡한 종이접기를 하듯, 촘촘히 접히며 얽혀 있다. 아무리 작은 홀로그램 필름의 조각이라도 그 안에서 전체적인 이미지를 온전히 유지하는 것처럼. 화면을 채우는 세포나 파편, 원형의 형태 혹은 작은 조각들은 단순히 무작위로 그려진 게 아니다. 그 미시적인 입자들의 움직임은 이미 거시적인 에너지를 그대로 가지는 최소한의 물질들이다. 이들이 해체되고 다시 조합되는 모습은 마치 혼돈의 메아리처럼 보이기도 한다. 그러나 이는 파편화된 존재들이 서로를 보완하며 하나의 형태를 찾아가는 과정이다. 나는 이 흐름을 ‘상극의 조화’라 부른다. 결국 존재들은 모든 것이 한 개의 질서로 연결되어 있다는 진실을 보게 된다. 세상은 내 작업을 ‘강한 에너지의 파열과 분출’이라는 시각으로 보지만, 사실은 여러 존재들 간의 접힌 질서를 표현해내는 물리학적이자 철학적인 수행에 가깝다. 단절된 현실을 넘어, 모든 곳에 전체가 살아 숨쉬는 걸 느끼게 하고 싶다. 나의 작품이 당신에게 숨겨진 가장 부드러운 조화와 공명하기를 바란다.
